"Good morning Upper East Siders. Gossip Girl here. Your one and only source into the scandalous lives of Manhattan's elites". So this may sound cheesy, but I had Gossip Girls in the back of my mind for almost the entire time when I was in New York. From many films and tv shows have been set in this city, there are only two of them that I remembered during my trip (besides the GG): Serendipity and Love Actually. I wish I could eat yoghurt around the Upper East Side like Blair Waldorf, or ice skating at Rockefeller Centre like Kate Beckinsale, but unfortunately we were in a rush so we only had a quick stop and move to other sites of interest.
The city is so awesomely grand and somehow different from other big cities I've visited. The first time I arrived I was bit disoriented cause they use the Street and Avenue numbering for the streets and subway station. I also almost got lost with all of the skyscrapers that look pretty much the same. Despite those confusions, I still had a great time with this sleepless city. Treasure hunting at the Hell's Kitchen flea market, visited the artsy MoMa, took a morning walk in Central Park, dinner at the Mc Donald's in Times Square (!). Me and my family were also made our way to Brooklyn Bridge (not forget to mention the little ice cream factory near the bridge and also the Shake Shack!) DUMBO, Rockefeller Ice Rink, Grand Terminal and World Trade Centre Memorial. Two days were hardly enough though. It seems like I left this city right before I began to know it! There's still so much I haven't seen/known, and I just can't wait to be back.
