December 31, 2010

Today is the last day of 2010. And, wow, I still cannot believe how fast this whole year has been passed! I feel as if celebrated new year's eve in Bali with my big family and counting down from 2009 to 2010 in a recent days. and now, everybody is going to countdown our last times in 2010! Honestly, I am not in the mood for celebrating new year. Not like a few years back, when I always happy to celebrate new year's eve together with either my family or friends, and right now, I much prefer to stay at home and thinking about what I did in a year back and what will I do next. Yeah, maybe it is because of my anxiety to face a year ahead and other reason is tomorrow I have to wake up earlier to catch a flight to Singapore on 6am.
Anyway, here is my wish list for 2010 that I made in last year.

Some of them were successfully done and the others weren't. But apart from doing it or not, I feel so much blessed during this whole year. I cannot tell them in the details, because it won't be enough to write them all in one post. Had some time of a really healthy life, passed a phase to be an adult, finished the unfinished things, found other great things in life such photography, knitting, piano, cooking, etc, still surrounded with wonderful people, and still there are plenty of great things that God gave to me in this year. Hopefully, 2011 will be much better than 2010.

All our fights and lies made us stronger. Thats where you can tell if its real love. no matter what happens, you make it through together. Each person has insecurities and character flaws that they have to get past, and it’s a decision to grow together and reach a place of understanding and acceptance or grow apart and go separate ways. It’s a test of how strong your love is for that person. You either give up or hold on for dear life.

I am kinda in awe of these beautiful things which make me wonder to grab them to be my wish list in 2011 :

1. The oxfords from Penelope and Coco
At first, they got my eyes with their fascinating commercial ad video, then got my heart with their cutie collections of oxford shoes. Check out their commercial ad video Penelope and Coco, trust me, you will stuck at the moment you see it!

2.  The Coolest Necklace from Sou Brette
I have mentioned before how much creative and inspiring local designers that we have nowadays. Sou Brette is one of them who has its different taste of making the statement necklace. I have no idea of how could they make the pins into the cube? Even though the price is quite expensive than other brands, but still worth to have it.

3. Lauren Moffatt Spring 2011 : The Honeymooner
I am speechless to describe how admiring this LM Spring Collection is. Toooo much ♥

4. Seize the moment with Sprocket Rocket
Another kind of lomo's that I wish to buy after using Holga for 2 years.

I was surprised for being stalked by this kind of hijabers blog, fiminin blog, which full of inspiring ladies behind the veil. Thank you for including me to be one of your inspiring ladies :)

twenty (days) to twenty (years)

Today is 25th of December.
While Christian people celebrating Christmas, I am counting down my twenty days left before my age turns to twenty years. It seems usual for other people who already went to twenty something. But for me, it is a special year. Not like most people, in this 20 year I will come into the other part of life, when I have to choose and decide my future by my own hands. Either being a career woman or continue my study to have a master degree, both are still beyond of my imagination. I have to adapt (again) with not only the new world that I have never known yet, but also the environment, people and habit. Honestly, it makes me sick whenever I think about it.
Trying not so afraid to think about it, there are some wishes that I wish to fulfill one year ahead :
  • Graduated in July or at least October 2011
  • Getting thinner (not so important thing to be wished, huh? but I wish it really bad at this time)
  • Driving well
  • Better English (both speaking and writing)
  • Better to play piano
  • Seeing the other part of the world (Europe or America will be good)
  • Making a video in which me as a director
  • Already now what things that fit best for me (take a job or study master degree, fashion or urban and regional planning?)
  • Speak Sunda well (I have been living in Bandung for almost 4 years, but still cannot speak Sunda well. What ashamed!)
  • More DIY, less shopping
  • Be a person who will always be grateful of life
  • Expand mind and horizon by doing the new challenges
Hopefully, all wishes will be granted in my twenty. Wish me luck :)

Before you do anything, think. If you do something to try and impress someone, to be loved, accepted or even to get someone’s attention, stop and think. So many people are busy trying to create an image, they die in the process.

In this vivacious Thursday, a delicious Fettucini is really made my day!

Ingredients :

250 gr fettucini
1/2 bottle of milk
3 slices of smoke beef, cut into thin strips
2 tablespoons mushroom
1/2 grated cheddar cheese
1/2 onion, chopped
2 garlic, chopped

Directions :

1. Boil a big pot of water. Add fettucini and cook for 10 - 15 minutes or until mushy. Drain fettucini, then return it to the pot.

2. Heat oil in a large heavy saucepan over medium heat. Saute garlic until softened. Stir in onion and smoke beef, and cook until smoke beef is evenly browned. Remove from heat.
3. In a medium pot, pour the smoke beef mixture, whisk together with milk, grated Cheddar and mushroom. Stir them until curdle.
4. Pour them over the fettucini. Add salt and pepper (only if you need).

Special thank to Ica who gave me the recipe! :*
Dear Bunda,

Maybe I have never told you yet about how much adorable you are,
If I look for the strongest woman, it might be you.
If I look for the person who can teach me to have a good table manner, it might be you.
If I look for the real traveler, it might be you.
If I look for the most assertive human, it might be you.

Maybe I have never told you yet about how much I proud of you,
I have not known anyone who has more passion and love in education but you,
When I am tired of being a fourth grade collegian,
you, as a Professor, still have more passion to continue your study on another major.

Maybe I have never told you yet about how much I love you,
You are my role model,
You are my teacher,
and you are the greatest thing that God has given to me.

I love you, Bunda.

We ♥ Pajamas Party!

My weekend was a little bit different than usual. I didn't spend my Saturday night either alone in my room or together with Ican, but had a wonderful weekend by doing pajamas party with my friends. It was pretty good! At the first time when I had just arrived at Nadya house, some of my friends were already made two pans of pizza. Sadly, I came late and couldn't take part on making the pizzas :(

The pizza was so yummy! good job girls ;)

Pajama that I wore

We mostly spent our Saturday night with watching the dvds, Paranormal Activity 2 and A Moment To Remember (Korean's Movie). It was silly when we watched the PA 2, we made ourselves frightened and sometimes we scream out. It was fun, though. And afterwards, some of us were focus to watch the second dvd while others were playing the Monopoly.

No longer than one hour since that, one by one of us was sleeping with our own comfortable way to have a tightly sleep.

Sunday morning was even better than Saturday night! we went outside the house and walked underneath the sunshine and blue sky that I really love.

After walked around, we went back to Nadya's and made the lasagna!

As time goes by, we should go back home and seize the moment in our memories. Special thank to Nadya and family! Let's have another party, girls! :D

Ladies Behind The Veil

This morning my sister was successfully distract my focus while I was studying for my final exam. She sent some links of fashion blog which the owners are the ladies with veil. Then, I was totally unfocused after looking at their blogs. Amazed. That is the only words in my mind when I found the "hijabers" (they called it)  who have a great sense of fashion! I'm totally glad to see them. Especially when I know that most of them are young talented people.

These are my favorite ones :

Well, there is no more judgment about nerd, ugly, not cool, or whatever they call it to the girls who wear veil. Because as you can see from the pictures above, the ladies with veil have even look gorgeous than the other one who doesn't wear it.

Teriyaki Beef and Vegetables

A couple days ago when I tidied up my room, I found Nadya's cooking book that I've borrowed since years ago (so sorry, Nad :p). I love that book because it guides the reader how to cook easily with its simple and fancy drawn of each steps of cooking. Then, suddenly I have my desire to cook and decided to make Asian Beef and Vegetables (which eventually I made the Teriyaki one).

Here are the ingredients that you need :
- 350 gr rump steak
- 1 spring onions, chopped
- 1 cloves garlic, crushed
- 2 sachet oyster sauce
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 1 carrot, sliced
- 1 corn, grated

After you get all the stuffs, then prepare yourself  for each steps!

Anndddddd.....Here it is!

Even though I've been criticized with the too sweet of teriyaki beef and a little bit tasteless of vegetables, I'm happy and had enough fun to cook it :)
*Still, I know that I have to practice harder to get the perfect one.

Well, I just can't wait to have the other cooking times!
